Wonder-FULL earns GOLD!

I’m thrilled to tell you the good news!

We earned the GOLD medal in the inspirational book category for this year’s MIPA awards.

As an author, this is amazing validation for the blood, sweat and tears that went into the writing and publishing process. Creating a book is definitely a labor of love, but the accolades sure don’t hurt!

The Midwest Book Awards honor authors and publishers in the 12-state Midwest publishing community, recognizing excellence in books published during the previous calendar year. The competitive awards celebrate creativity in content and execution, overall book quality, and the book’s unique contribution to its subject area. The Midwest Independent Publishing Association (MIPA) has sponsored the book awards since 1990.

This success is not mine alone. It takes a village to create a book. And I’d like to thank my village.

A HUGE shout out of gratitude to my clients, colleagues, readers, family, friends, MIPA judges, and publishing team for the honor of earning this award.

You know who you are.

You are the people who push me to be better.

You bring color, depth and joy to my world.

You are simply wonder-full.

To the real-life Wonder Women who have allowed me to feature you and interview you. It is because of your authenticity and generosity that this book is even possible.

My family—Thank you for allowing me to share our stories and life lessons. And, of course, for the Wonder Woman lunch box.

Lynda Carter—for bringing Wonder Woman to life. You taught 10-year-old me that women could have fierce strength, kind hearts and incredible valor.

My childhood neighbor Jodi—Thanks for sharing my affinity for Wonder Woman when we were little girls. I still remember how we’d wear Wonder Woman Underoos (yes, the underwear that’s fun to wear) and run through our back yards saving the world from evil. Apparently that’s what kids did before iPads.

The Pond Crew at Beaver’s Pond Press—for keeping me organized, on track and sane. You make publishing fun!

Athena—I knew when I first heard your name that you were the woman to illustrate this book. You wow me with your talent.

Angie (a.k.a. editor extraordinaire) and Jennifer—Your enthusiasm for this book brought it to life. Thank you for your patience, guidance and grace.

My super clients—who invite me to share my stories, research and nuggets of wisdom to empower your teams, students, colleagues and staff. Because of you, I love what I do!

You, the readers—Thank you for investing in my books You are the reason I write. I am honored to serve you and eager to learn how you use your superpowers to bring positive energy to the people you encounter.

And finally, to God who gave me the passion, the drive, the words, the people, and the superpowers to make it all happen.

I am humbled and grateful.

Thank you.
