If this week’s #RealLifeWonderWoman looks familiar to you, that may be because you’ve seen her here before. Right here, on my blog, back in December of 2019. I featured Catherine Brennan then, as she was launching her first book, So Now What? A Guide for People Who Feel Stuck.

Since then, Catherine has had many life changes (she’s definitely NOT STUCK!), including some exciting news–another book about to release. Today, we are going to revisit and catch up with this lovely, inspiring, and energetic #RealLifeWonderWoman.
KR: Hello again! What’s new since I last interviewed you?
CB: Just a few things! I grew out my hair and found out it’s curly, survived the pandemic, passed another decade marker, retired from my 26-year career as a construction company business owner, downsized our again, and became a grandma!
KR: The last time I interviewed you, you had just launched your book called So Now What? A Guide for People Who Feel Stuck. What made you decide to follow it up with a workbook?
CB: In my first book, I pose many questions to ponder. For some people, this is enough to move them from being stuck. Others can benefit from the step of writing out answers to those and other questions. This is why I came up with a workbook.
KR: I’m a big believer in the power of journaling. Writing can be so therapeutic! I find it helps me to think through an issue, thought or concern, and gives me clarity. This is one of the reasons I created plenty of room to journal, doodle and make lists in my book Wonderful: Activate Your Inner Superpowers (No Cape Required). Something tells me we are on the same page (pun intended!) when it comes to journaling. Have you answered the questions in your own workbook?
CB: Each question in the workbook was tested by me by answering the questions for myself. Over and over, the questions revealed thoughts that were not in my conscious mind. This process uncovered insights and solutions.

KR: So, if I have your original book (which I do!), do I need the workbook?
CB: If you would like to dig a little deeper, and have a method to get unstuck, the workbook is for you. Writing is like a secret sauce in that it brings your wisdom from your nonconscious mind. It’s simply an exercise to unearth your deepest thoughts. The process of answering directed questions about the issues that have you stuck will break lose answers you may not have known you have.
This process has worked for me!
KR: What if people feel like they don’t have time?
CB: This is a reasonable question. There are so many things that take our time. It can seem like there is never enough of it.
I recommend not spending more than 10 to 15 minutes a day on the workbook. This is challenging work for your body, mind, and spirit. It is a process that is best if it unfolds over time. Don’t dive in but dip your toe in the water. It’s not meant to be painful but slightly uncomfortable until you are free.
Consider the time spent a gift. The time you invest will benefit both you and those you love.
KR: Where can people purchase your book and workbook?
A – The easiest place to get it is my website: http://www.catherineabrennan.com/book-store
It can also be found at Itasca Books: https://itascabooks.com/so-now-what-a-guided-workbook-to-get-unstuck/
KR: So you know how much I like a good party. And from what I understand, you are having two of them (one virtual and one in person), and are inviting my readers to attend. Can you give us the details?
CB: Yes! There will be a launch party on Thursday, May 27th. Everyone is welcome!
