#RealLifeWonderWoman — Meet Nicole Leiren

Described by those who know her best as perky, quirky and effervescent, USA Today Best-Selling author Nicole Leiren likes to have fun — in life, with her characters and, of course, her readers. She admits to being sassy (just ask her mother!) and inspiration for her characters are drawn from the real-world heroes and heroines she meets while traversing the country. Nicole enjoys sharing the love, laughter, mystery, and occasionally a touch of the mayhem she forces her characters to endure—all for the reader’s pleasure! Her real-world heroes and heroines will keep you turning the pages until you reach the whodunit or happily ever after (usually both!) Born in the crossroads of America (that’s Indiana in case you weren’t sure LOL), Nicole now resides near Lake Conroe in the beautiful state of Texas with her hubby and a cranky cat named JB.

Friends, I’m so excited to introduce you to today’s real life Wonder Woman (and USA Today Best Selling Author!)…Nicole Leiren!

KR: Hi Nicole! Will you pease tell us about what brings you joy and fulfillment?

NL: While I love my day job, my writing allows me to let all the characters running around in my head come out onto the paper and take readers away to a different place where they can escape and feel in a safe place. I enjoy making people laugh and hearing THEIR stories. Whether it’s connecting with audiences I’m speaking to or my readers, I love when they tell me that what I did affected them.

KR: I believe we all have inner superpowers. What are some of yours?

NL: I’m a really great listener and love making connections with people. I’m told my smile is infectious and brings joy to others. And there’s something about me, that makes people want to share and unburden their hearts (even strangers LOL) I’m not sure what gives me this “super power” but I love that people trust me and, again, those connections that I’m able to make. It warms my heart and I hope it does the same for them.

KR: Can you tell us about an influential woman in your life and how she inspired you?

NL: My mother. She was a working mom (Registered Nurse) who always managed to balance her work life and home life without ever letting either feel like they weren’t getting 100% (or more) of her time and energy. She demonstrated what a solid, loving marriage looks like and has the capacity to care for others in a way that leaves me amazed. She went back to school to get her RN degree while working full time and being a wife and mom of two. She’s tenacious and inspired me to become the woman I am today. Both she and my father nurtured a love of reading in me from a very young age and they are both still avid readers today. She will always be a Wonder Woman to me!!

KR: If you could have one super-human power, what would it be?

NL: Oh this is so easy..I’d love to be able to fall asleep on command and sleep for whatever time frame I designated for that night (yeah sleep and I have never been close friends LOL)

KR: What do you do for fun? What are your hobbies?

NL: It’s changed over the year, but right now spending time with my friends, going out on the boat with my husband, and playing with my grandson (he’s 2 and GMom’s little angel!) Between work, writing, and what I do for fun, no time for other hobbies 😊

KR: Knowing what you know at this stage of your life, what words of wisdom would you give to your 20-year-old self?

NL: Don’t be so afraid of change or failure. It’s all part of life and failing doesn’t make you a failure…giving up or settling does!
