#RealLifeWonderWoman — Meet Hannah Klingman

Let me tell you a fun story about how I met today’s #RealLifeWonderWoman. She’s a passionate, hard-working entrepreneur and owner of Hannah Klingman Virtual Assisting LLC. Many people who do what I do for a living (professional speakers and authors) work with virtual assistants and I was considering adding a VA to my business in the upcoming year. As I researched Minnesota-based professional VA firms, I kept seeing information about Hannah Klingman Virtual Assisting on social media. I was impressed by the work Hannah was doing, only to realize she’s the daughter of a college suitemate of mine. (I haven’t seen her mom since the early 90s). You know how the saying goes…small world!

It’s been so fun getting to know Hannah. She’s energetic, kind, extroverted and ambitious. Not only is she a yogi, horse lover and cat owner, she’s a real life Wonder Woman when it comes to business and marketing. She loves helping small business owners grow and thrive through customized marketing action plans–one of her specialties is Instagram marketing. (Those of you who have been following MY social media journey know how badly I need her help on that platform. Good thing, she’s an Instagram pro!)

Folks, I’m so glad you’re here reading this today. I hope you enjoy getting to know Hannah and learning about her superpowers, challenges, inspiration, and wisdom.

KR: Will you please tell us about what brings you joy and fulfillment?

HK: I love working with my clients and connecting with other business owners (especially local ones!). It’s so fun to get to know other people and help them build their businesses.

I’ve always been an achiever and a go-getter (Enneagram type 3, anyone?). I believe in goal setting and taking action. Hitting the goals I set for myself, whether business or personal, gives me a sense of confidence and fulfillment. Being a small business owner fits my personality perfectly!

KR: What inspired you to start your VA business?

HK: I started my business at 19 while I was in college to make some extra money when I wasn’t studying and quickly realized that it was exactly the career I had always envisioned myself in. My parents started their own small business when I was very young, so I grew up learning about entrepreneurship, customer service, and finances. Because of this background, I knew I wanted to be my own boss someday… I just didn’t know how. When I left for college, my dad gave me a few projects each month that I could do virtually from my dorm room on my own time. Through his network, I picked up a couple of other clients, and it snowballed from there until I realized that this was my opportunity to be self-employed. When I graduated, I took my business full time and haven’t regretted a single moment!

KR: I know from firsthand experience the challenges that come from starting (and running) a business. What have been some of your business challenges?

HK: The biggest challenge so far has been learning all the things that come with a business. Business taxes is the first thing that comes to mind! Choosing software, hiring contractors, marketing, billing, CRM… the list goes on. I’ve learned SO much already and I know there is always more to learn and improve upon!

KR: Tell us more about what it means to run a virtual assisting company. How do you and your team help your clients?

HK: We specialize in Instagram marketing for small business owners. Through Instagram marketing services, we connect our clients with their target audience, increase their brand awareness, and allow them to focus their energy on scaling their businesses. We can also assist with other digital marketing tasks such as email marketing, podcasting, and other social media platforms.

KR: We all have inner superpowers. What are some of yours?

HK: I really value everything I do and everyone I work with. My business, my clients, and my work mean so much to me and I put my heart into all of it.

KR: Can you tell us about an influential woman in your life and how she inspired you?

HK: My sister, Kalli, inspires me every day. She’s independent, confident, and never settles for anything less than she deserves.

KR: If you could have one super-human power, what would it be?

HK: It took me a while to decide, but I think I would choose the ability to fly!

KR: What do you do for fun? What are your hobbies?

HK: I love going out! It doesn’t matter what it is, as long as I’m doing something. Coffee dates, drinks with friends, road trips, cabin weekends, camping, you name it.

KR: Knowing what you know at this stage of your life, what words of wisdom would you give to your younger self?

HK: Don’t doubt yourself. Make decisions confidently and do what feels right for you.
