#RealLifeWonderWoman — Meet CeCe Terlouw

We encounter passionate, fascinating women every day. These women may not chase down bad guys in shiny red boots and may not wear tiaras to work, but they get stuff done. They are employees, wives, sisters, daughters, caretakers, volunteers, mothers, partners, bosses and lovers. They are real women—awesome and inspiring women—with stories to share.

I’ve made it my personal mission to share stories of wonderful women in hopes of empowering us to come together to honor and support one another. Please join me as I feature a different #RealLifeWonderWoman each Wednesday on my blog at raditowrite.com.

Like Wonder Woman, today’s #RealLifeWonderWoman fights for truth and justice. She is determined and grace-filled and has dedicated her life to the development and advancement of others. Her name is CeCe Terlouw. She serves as the executive director of Terebinth Refuge, a non profit shelter and transitional home for sex trafficked and sexually exploited women.

CeCe has served on the Safe Harbor Statewide Director Advisory Panel and is an active member of the Statewide Human Trafficking Task Force. She is certified in the My Life, My Choice curriculum for sexually exploited youth and speaks often on human trafficking and the hope of restoration for exploited women.

Kelly: Tell me about what brings you joy and fulfillment.

CeCe: In my work- watching the transformation and discovery in a girl/woman who begins to discover the beauty, gifts and purposes God has ordained in her life! Seeing loves redeemed! My dream is to see Terebinth Refuge flourishing and changing lives to where others will want to duplicate it in other places.

In my personal life – time with my family, and my grand girls! I love to worship God in dance and believe there is such power in this. Therefore I urge you brothers and sisters on account of God’s Mercy, to present your bodies as a living and Holy sacrifice acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.  Romans 12:1

I love music!  I enjoy smooth/contemporary jazz along with christian contemporary and gospel. I can’t picture my life without music…this brings me joy!

Kelly: We all have inner superpowers. What are some of yours?

CeCe: Grace for others, patience for people, kindness, strong belief in prayer, heart for justice, my love for the Lord.

Kelly: Can you tell us about an influential woman in your life and how she inspired you?

CeCe: My mother! She is a prayer warrior and great teacher. She also has an understanding of what my grandmother handed down: “The victory is in the praise!”

Kelly: If you could have one super-human power, what would it be?

CeCe: I would love to be able to remember everyone’s name that I meet! It means so much to a person when you can remember and call them by name.

Kelly: What words of wisdom would you give to your 20-year-old self?

CeCe: That God is truly faithful and He can be trusted totally! He has the best plan for your life, just seek Him and learn to wait for His direction.
