#RealLifeWonderWoman — Meet Brooke Peterson

Ever meet someone who just drew you in?

Someone with genuinely positive energy?

A few weeks ago, I met someone like that at a creative retreat in Wisconsin. She was quiet, at first. Thoughtful and respectful. But willing to open up and ask questions. I could tell almost immediately that she was smart. Like really smart. And compassionate, too. As we chatted over dinner, I learned about her work and her passion to connect and empower others. It is with pleasure that I introduce you to her today.

Meet Brooke, today’s real-life Wonder Woman!

KR: Please tell us about what brings you joy and fulfillment.

BP: The days I feel most alive all of these components are present. First, I need to sweat or move my body in some way shape or form that will help improve me shape or form. Next I need soul food, which for me comes from reading scripture or taking a moment to meditate on life-giving truth. From there space to create brings tremendous joy whether that’s writing new content for a program or talk, designing a pretty social media post, or writing an entry in my personal journal. But here’s where it gets really exciting for me. I can only hole-up in my own little world for so long.

When I have the honor of having conversations with women, asking great questions to help them discover what’s inside of them, and offer a listening ear while they begin to articulate the breakthrough – that is about as good as it gets for me.

My dreams and passions lay in helping other women discover and activate THEIR OWN.

KR: We all have inner superpowers. What are some of yours?

BP: My superpower is connection.

Need a trusted repairman to fix your furnace? I got you. Need a suggestion for the best bundt cake? I’ll tell you where to go. Need an introduction to get your business idea off the ground? Let me introduce you to the perfect partner. Connection is my superpower. Digging for gold is a close companion. Seeing the gold in others before they see it in themselves.

KR: Can you tell us about an influential woman in your life and how she inspired you?

BP: Her name is Tracy. My first official personal “coach”. She opened my eyes to a new realm of understanding and certainly helped me see the gold in myself before I ever believed it. She’s invested hundreds of hours into me and as a result my capacity has expanded personally and professionally. I’ve learned simply by being in close proximity to her – seeing her authentically tackle her own challenges and consistently choose a growth mentality even when most would throw in the towel or cast blame.

She’s not “better than” she’s “other than”. Counter-cultural and a woman I deeply respect and admire. Thank you Tracy!

KR: If you could have one super-human power, what would it be?

BP: Remain unoffendable. This is one of the goals of my life. Although it certainly does require super(natural) power to do so. I don’t believe I have the right to remain offended. I want to live a life free of offense and as a result FREE to be me.

KR: What do you do for fun? What are your hobbies?

BP: My hobbies include sweat. (See above!) I am a group fitness instructor just for the fun of it. I also host small groups through my local church and love building community in my own neighborhood through play-dates and grill-outs.

I also love continuing to cure a personal style. Whether that’s fun new hair, a great consignment find, or a splurge at the department store. Minimalistic things, high-impact design!

KR: Knowing what you know at this stage of your life, what words of wisdom would you give to your 20-year-old self?

BP: Take a day off from the gym gosh dangit. Don’t chase the “what”, invest in the “who”. Always make time for the “one”. The quality of people in our lives we surround ourselves with are the ones where true wealth is found.

Are you a Minnesota gal longing to prosper in your created purpose and personal health journey?
