Today’s #reallifewonderwoman wears many hats, from on-air host, to wife, mother, entrepreneur, belly dancer, and the Founder/Owner of Twin Cities Mobile Mommy. Yes, belly dancer! Read on and get to know Ms. Anahita Champion!

KR: Please tell us about what brings you joy and fulfillment.

AC: I sure do love the stage and I love being in front of the camera. My passion for providing uplifting experiences run deep from my childhood. Whether I am emceeing an event or hosting a TV/video program I truly enjoy proving a positive experience for the audience and viewers.

With Twin Cities Mobile Mommy, I really love connecting with families. Sharing my own journey in motherhood has allowed me to relate to other parents while also leaning into motherhood to help me grow my business. My goal is to continue helping families of diverse communities and households reduce their stress of everyday life, while also partnering with amazing local businesses for us all to grow with one another.

My ultimate dream job has been to expand my on-camera career to be a TV host of a national entertainment show. Imagine a cross-breed of the Ellen DeGeneres Show + The Today’s show.

KR: You mentioned Twin Cities Mobile Mommy. Can you please tell us more about it?

AC: This little gem is my newest venture. Twin Cities Mobile Mommy is a concierge service for families that offers services ranging from running errands, helping with laundry, pretty much any household tasks, on-site childcare, home organizing, prepping for a party and really anything else a parent could use help with.

KR: Brilliant! How did you come up with the idea?

AC: I came up with the idea of TC Mobile Mommy in 2016 when I was running my previous PR business from home and also had a newborn. The day-to-day responsibilities of keeping up with baby needs, my own self-care, a marriage, and demands of the business was already a lot to juggle. Then I looked around the room, and saw that the laundry was in about five piles that needed folding, dishes towering in the sink, and a plethora of other household needs that needed to be taken care of – and my gosh I felt so overwhelmed. I ran the business for 18 months in tandem with the PR business, and for multiple different reasons I decided to exit out of both companies.

I entered in 2018 feeling quite a bit lost and unsure of the next direction I wanted for myself for my career, and after my pageant experience and a few other opportunities, I realized the importance and desire to my find my groove by leaning into motherhood and also continue to wear my entrepreneurial hat somehow. It was August 2018 when I decided to re-launch Twin Cities Mobile Mommy and make it an inclusive platform that offers services, events, partnering with local businesses throughout the Twin Cities with the help of a team, and giving back to the community. Official launch party was June 2019, where I also launched a crowdfunding campaign to help with steep overhead costs…and here we are today working with our founding members and about to hire a team this fall.

KR: We all have inner superpowers. What are some of yours?

AC:
1) Compassion is likely my number one superpower. My ability to truly exude kindness, warmth and a genuine heart helps me relate to those around me- but mostly allows others to trust in me and feel comfortable.

2) I do have to say my playful and lighthearted personality can easily take the tension and edge out of a situation, and bring a smile to those I surround myself with. I love making others smile.

3) Another is demonstrating grace and understanding towards others, and really myself, has helped me grown tremendously as a friend, advocate, supporter and as a woman.

KR: Can you tell us about an influential woman in your life and how she inspired you?

AC: I have been a major fan of Lucille Ball since I was 9 years-old. Her wit, her playfulness, her incredible dedication to her career and family, her tenacity through the grit were so admirable. Besides loving show business, Lucy had an incredible story of her own to share with the world which included an interracial marriage during an era that was a bit more conservative than today. I’d love to have a chance to go back in time and sit down for a cup of coffee with her.

KR: If you could have one super-human power, what would it be?

AC: Teleportation! I truly need the ability to switch to my next location without the worry of traffic, weather issues or just purely holding myself back with surprising delays I get myself into.

KR: What do you do for fun? What are your hobbies?

AC: I have always been an outdoor kind of gal. Growing up, my family would spend a lot of time camping, hiking, exploring our beautiful lakes and canoeing. I love being by the water whether that’s a pool, lake or ocean.

I’ve belly danced since 2009, so anytime I can teach a class, perform or let loose in my living room I definitely shake and shimmy.

KR: Knowing what you know at this stage of your life, what words of wisdom would you give to your 20-year-old self?

AC: Be courageous. Opportunities will come along daily that will test you and your character, scare you, intimidate you, excite you, deflate you, push you, stretch you, grow you, lift you, celebrate you and more. Having courage to follow the journey through all the emotions will take you so far! Being courageous to be yourself during it all is most certainly high in importance.
