Cruisin’ the Midwest

Speaking with parents at Drake University about letting go.

Life’s been a bit of a whirlwind here since Out to Sea set sail. During the past two weeks, I’ve had the privilege of spending time in Des Moines, Brainerd, Fargo, Grand Forks and St. Cloud for book events, speaking engagements and marketing. It’s still a little surreal. And very exciting.

My Vanna White moment!

I’m not the best at posting my activities and I’m even worse at remembering to snap pictures when I’m out and about. I’m kind of an in-the-moment gal and really enjoy actually being there and not worrying about getting a good angle for a shot. Plus, I pretty much stink at photography. Anybody who knows me knows I’m good for a blurry, grainy selfie, even with an idiot-proof camera phone. See proof below.

They really rolled out the red carpet for me at my alma mater, The University of North Dakota. What a treat to meet current parents and students at the bookstore on Family Weekend!

UND Bookstore Author Event

Before the event, I had to make a stop at my former residence. Yes, this is one of the grainy selfies I remembered to take. I didn’t get a picture of their store, but must give a big shout out to Ferguson Books (on South Washington) who will also be carrying the book.
