Meet the Intern: Gabrielle

In a previous post, I shared how the Radi to Write team has grown. I’m excited to introduce you to one of our amazing college interns today. Gabrielle is super-sharp, detail-oriented and hard-working. Read on to get to know Gabrielle and to learn what her parents did well in helping her transition from high school to college.

Area of study:  Global Business Leadership

Clubs & Extracurriculars:  Marketing Club

Fun Fact about you:  One of my favorite winter activities is ice fishing!

Best thing(s) your parent(s) did to help you as you started your freshman year:  One of the best things that both my parents did for me was not make it such a big emotional deal, I never once saw them cry, which helped make my transition to college easier, and it made me stronger.

Best item(s) to receive in a care package:  Some of my favorite items to receive in a care package include magazines, gift cards, and homemade snacks like puppy chow, trail mix, and seasoned pretzels.

What suggestions do you have for today’s PARENTS as they face the high school-to-college transition?  Listen to your student, sometimes they may need to just vent about something and they do not want your advice, they just need an ear. Be there for them and let them know that you care and think about them everyday. Show them that you are rooting for them and let them follow their dreams.
